Who the hell are we?

The Fish and the Lemon Tree is about life or, more specifically, our lives.  The part of our lives we enjoy, that inform us, and we ultimately live for.

We are lucky enough to be living in a position in a society that allows us leisure and are aware how important that is. It allows us the opportunity to learn, grow and develop as a society.

We write about the passions in our lives; the things we do for fun, for enlightenment and because we enjoy them. Food, travel, culture, arts, gardens, home craft, music and anything else we feel the need to express an opinion about. Reviews, how-to’s, recipe’s, diaries and general rants on whatever subject has us interested at that moment.

We aim to inform, entertain, engage and inspire. We write what we know, and what we want to find out. And we write from our point of view; at no time asserting that our opinion is the definitive word on any subject, but still with the firm belief that we have the right to express it.

Get involved, tell us what you think and engage with our pursuit to make the most we have with the time we’ve got Life is for living and we’re just trying to live well.

Boozers.

AMIE MASON

Amie Mason is a Perth based designer, lecturer and occasional foodie. Amie grew up in the South West region of Western Australia, spending summers scooping for blue manner crabs, diving for abalone and frolicking in vineyards. Her affinity for the weird and spicy was influenced by winters spent traveling throughout South East Asia with her family.

Amie is passionate about cooking wholesome food, using (mostly) locally sourced seasonal and home grown produce. And gin, she's really passionate about gin. The only thing she doesn't like is tuna. Tuna is gross.

What Chris loves to do more than anything else, however, is tell people about all these things, usually regardless of whether they are interested or not. Chris has some knowledge to share, and humour too, the majority of the time appropriate.
